Last week we revealed our new video for our debut single ‘Skull & Bones’ which was officially released yesterday and you can buy the track now from iTunes and other digital stores. Tomorrow night, we support Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds at Edinburgh Castle and we play Glasgow the following night, supporting The Merrylees. We’ll be dropping by on Jim Gellahty at Uncut Radio in Glasgow the same day. We end the week in Sheffield supporting the Smoke Fairies at The Leadmill and we will announce more dates soon.
We’re delighted to announce that we are supporting Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds this summer in Edinburgh. The already sold out show will be held at Edinburgh Castle on July 17th, can’t wait for this one. More Folks shows to be announced over coming weeks.
So we’re coming to end of our European Tour with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, with our final show tomorrow night in Zurich at Komplex 457. However, we’re pleased to announce that we are playing two smaller more intimate shows in Frankfurt at Zoom Club this Friday 160312 and Saturday 170312 night. We hope you can make it down.
Both shows are free entry and all you need to do is email: firstname.lastname@example.org
We’re looking forward to playing Camden’s BarFly tonight as a fine warm up with ‘The Static Jacks’ before we head off to Europe for our shows with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. All shows with NGHFB are now sold out but we will be playing a few free shows too at Tunnel Club in Milan 120312 and two shows at Zoom in Frankfurt 160312 & 170312 (links to follow). If you’re in that part of the world, or London tonight, then we hope to see you down.
On Monday we play our biggest show to date with ‘heavyweight champion’ Noel Gallagher and his ‘High Flying Birds’. Very much looking forward to this one. Reviews so far of his new record and shows have been massive, we’ll be on our game.
If you listened to our radio session on BBC Radio 2 yesterday then this post will make some sense, if you didn’t, well listen in here whilst you can via the BBC iPlayer. It seems our bass player Harry Gumery and our keyboard player Wil Akroyd were held up by the Law after setting off the practice room alarm in the very early hours dropping off gear.
So there you go.
You can also listen to a stripped down live performance of our free download ‘Avalanche’ and our cover of ‘Fearless’ by Pink Floyd. Our thanks go out to Ben and Ian at BBC Radio 2, Noel, Matt & Kat and everyone else down in London yesterday.
We’ve been invited to play a few songs on the UK’s most listened to station this Saturday on what is usually the ever popular Dermot O’Leary show on BBC Radio 2. This weeks show is hosted by Noel Gallagher who’s High Flying Birds we’re supporting in October. We’ll perform a stripped down acoustic version of one of our new songs and we’ve been asked to perform a classic cover too. Should be fun, looking forward to Saturday, hope you can tune in. The show is broadcast from 3pm to 6pm GMT.
We’ve been invited to play a private party in London in a few weeks time. Full details to be released soon as we will of course be able to invite a few fans as part of our guest list allocation. Those interested should join our mailing list as we will only select fans that are signed up for Folks updates!
It’s an interesting gig as we play to 200+ guests that are attending the after-show of the first UK art exhibition for Lennie Payne, the up and coming artist that creates ‘pop art’ imagery on Toast! Subjects for his artwork allegedly include Noel Gallagher, Amy Winehouse and Marc Bolan. For those that can’t or won’t make it we will of course get some gig footage up soon after… and more London gig news to follow soon enough.
