This months edition of ‘The Word‘ Magazine has an accompanying free CD ‘Now Hear This’ which includes Folks ‘Avalanche’ from our debut album, I See Cathedrals. The 15 tracks were hand-picked by the editorial team at The Word and the March edition is published today, 080212.
You can download Folks ‘Skull & Bones’ from our forthcoming debut album ‘I See Cathedrals’ for free here. Please feel free to share. Tell all the people you know. We recorded this song at Electrosound Studios in West Hollywood, USA, with producer Luther Russell and engineer Jason Hiller. Russell himself released an album last year, The Invisible Audience which is available through ITunes. A deluxe double vinyl edition is also available here.
We’re delighted to be playing a little show at The Puzzle with Sarabeth Tucek on 17th May. You might know her from the film ‘Dig!’, may have seen her on the road with Bob Dylan, or you might own her eponymous debut. Her new record ‘Get Well Soon’ is released through Sonic Cathedral and is acclaimed by The Times, Stool Pigeon, The Mirror, MOJO, The Sun and The Quietus.
Luther Russell releases ‘The Invisible Audience’ June 21st on Ungawa in the USA. This is followed by a European release and tour in support of the record September 2011.
We’re delighted to announce Harry Gumery has joined Folks on Bass.
Our friend, long-time collaborator and producer, Luther Russell, was mentioned here in an article about Ethan Johns published in the Huffington Post. Russells new LP, ‘The Invisible Audience’ is released in early 2011. Luther and Ethan co-produced the eponymous debut record from Sarabeth Tucek and played a few London shows in support of that record.
