Limited physical copies of our special 7″ release of Dirty Words b/w Nest are available through Rough Trade Stores. Here’s what they said -

Fantastic limited debut single from Manchester’s Folks that recalls the solo work of John Lennon mixed with The Kinks. It sounds so authentic – it takes you back to the golden age of the early 70′s. This has massive potential. Early radio play of their demos came from Nic Harcourt’s ‘Morning Becomes Eclectic’ on KCRW in LA and Steve Lamacqs ‘In New Music We Trust’. The band were then discovered by legendary producer John Leckie who provided what lead singer Scott Anderson describes as a ‘roadmap’. They later met producer Luther Russell (Sarabeth Tucek, Noah and the whale, Richmond Fontaine) and recorded this single at toerag studios in hackney. The band always felt ‘Dirty words’ was their protest song and this was confirmed when it began to be performed by artists in America. ‘Nest’ documents their experience of cheap motels, late nights and excess on the road.

Digital copies are available through ITunes.
